Week 10 Steelers-Saints Game Thread
What is a quarterback, Alex?
This is the Saints week game thread. Post your comments here. Eight games left. The magic number is eight. It's all they can win.
And why is Drew Brees on Jeopardy? I dunno. But hopefully he is IN jeopardy. After what my spotlight did to Ike Taylor a week ago, I figured that putting Drew on here might be a decent jinx. Anything is worth a shot at this point.
By the way, I believe this is the first backfield duo of a Steelers opponent I've ever interviewed. I can't find a link to my profile on Brees from college (Purdue...booooo!!!!), but I do have the Reggie Bush link
They took out the whole chunk about how excited he was to play in Texas. Ha!! Second overall!!! Maybe I jinxed him then, too.

The game will tell me everything I need to know about the Saints. Up till now I've been writing them off as a nice story of a bunch of overachieving hardhats, doing it for their city. But if they go into Pittsburgh and win, I'll change my mind, and believe they're a real threat in the NFC.

By the way, by mentioning Ike Taylor again in this gameday thread, you have put the double whammy on him. He might get a high ankle sprain, he might break his fibia.

Leave the poor guy alone, Sonny.

With Staley active for the game today, I wonder if the Steelers will get back to running, running and running some more against the 17th ranked run defense in the NFL. Just a thought. I did agree with Jims barometer for how good the Saints are. If they can do it without too much help (<2 turnovers) I will still agree.
Where in the hell is spell check on this thing? I am not a writer by trade and embarass myself enough without having to worry about my spelling.

We're all friends here. I won't make fun of your spelling...just laugh inwardly.

Anyway, I agree that this is a Saints barometer. And one for the Steelers, too. Not a "can they make a run" kind of thing. But, rather, will they fold or make things tough for the rest of their opponents. I suspect the latter.

Man, I have the Skins game on and Randle El just made one of those plays that change games....an end around that looked stopped, he turned it around and gained 23...ugh. I know, we COULDN'T AFFORD what they paid him. I know, I know.

I agree about Randle El and about paying him. But I did think that he was the best punt returner the Steelers had in a long time. As a matter of fact, nobady comes to mind better that him. Of course my memory isn't what it was since my chemo.

Good win. Any win is a good one, right? And, man, I like Willie Parker. Not just today. But, if anyone's been reading this thing, you know that.

And...lookie, lookie, FORCE turnovers, rather than GIVE them and look waht happends.

Well, the Steelers actually managed to pull it out. I just wonder how the Polamalu's concussion could play out going forward? He had multiple concussions during his time at USC......

I didn't realize that about the USC concussions. Cowher said he is questionable at the presser today...and Deshea is too..but with an ankle.

You would think that all the extra hair under the helmet would guard against concussions, no?
